Introductory Weekend Workshops

Beyond the basics - further steps in shamanism

London Open Drumming Group

Introduction to Shamanism

A series of 6 evening workshops

with Shenoah Taylor and David Scott

The course runs over 6 Thursday evenings with each session building on the last to enable participants to better understand their experiences and gain confidence when working alone. Homework between the sessions will enable participants to deepen their relationships with the helpers they meet and explore different ways of working.

Participants will be introduced to some of the main ideas and methods used for thousands of years by shamans around the world. We will work within a core shamanic framework which is culturally non-specific and enables people to explore a path of individual and collective wisdom while discovering how shamanism can empower daily life.

Participants will –
• learn the basic techniques of shamanic journeying to connect with helpers in the spirit world

• visit the different worlds of the spirits to find help, healing and information

• learn how to bring back the power and wisdom available in the spirit world and integrate it into this reality

• explore how to practically use shamanism in everyday life for help with life changes, problem solving, healing, and accessing personal power

• learn how to journey on behalf of other people

• learn basic shamanic healing

• look at the ethics of shamanic work

Completion of this course gives access to advanced shamanic courses with the Scandinavian Centre for Shamanic Studies and an ongoing shamanic circle with the London Open Drumming Group
