Longdance Ceremony

Dancing into our futures

with Shenoah Taylor & Nellie Kyne

2009 dates to be confirmed

This sunset to sunrise longdance will bring together a community of people who seek to mark a change or transition in their lives. We will be dancing into our futures while offering an energy give away as we dance not only for ourselves but for the ancestors and all creation.

All change is movement and movement with intent can bring deep healing and transformation. Dancing through the night can move us through conscious and subconscious blocks crossing thresholds into different ways of being with ourselves and the world.

We will work with the elemental nature of the woods to create a space that holds energetic power. As we dance we create the energetics within that space and this offers us the opportunity to renew our own energy.

Each dancer will bring a good and clear intent for dancing and create a banner that represents where they have come from, where they are now and where they want to be moving into. The stories of the banners will be shared and the banners placed around the dance ground to remind us of why we dance and inspire us through the emotional and physical thresholds that we meet during the night.

The dance will start at dusk on Saturday and end at dawn on Sunday. During the dance itself there will be no eating although drinking is allowed. Food for after the ceremony will be provided.

If there are those who do not wish to dance there are spaces for drummers who will support the dancers by beating the heartbeat of the earth through the night.

The original form of this dance was dreamed into being by the visionary Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow. The form that we offer honours his original vision and also bring together the visions and inspirations of Nellie and Shenoah.

Participants need to have completed a basic course in shamanism and have a good connection to at least one spirit helper
